Through our partnership with Student Circus, students who confirm their place and begin paying towards their tuition fees on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes gain free access to Jumpstart for up to 100 days before they arrive in London.

Your studies are your top priority. International students can work up to 20 hours per week, and work must fit around your timetabled classes.

How to access Jumpstart

Choose your intake to find out your Jumpstart access date.

Your Jumpstart access for up to 100 days begins on 1 June 2026.

Getting started is simple. Just follow these 3 steps: 

To access Jumpstart, you must confirm your place on your chosen programme and pay a non-refundable administration fee of £260.

You’ll need to:  

  • Pay your advance tuition fees (as outlined in your offer letter).  
  • Receive your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies).  

After confirming your place and completing your payments:  

  • You’ll receive instructions from our central team.  
  • Log in to the platform with your personal email address.  
  • Begin building your skills and exploring opportunities ahead of your arrival.   

Once enrolled on campus, you’ll also be able to register for the full Student Circus platform using your University of Huddersfield – London email address, giving you access to placements, graduate opportunities, and much more.

Optimise your employment prospects

Once enrolled on campus, through our partnership with CareerSet, you will have access to an online platform that uses AI to help assess and optimise your CV, cover letters and LinkedIn profile.

You will receive instant, personalised, actionable advice in real time, covering the following areas:

  • CV scoring, based on key criteria that recruiters and hiring managers look for to generate personalised feedback.

Once enrolled on campus, University of Huddersfield - London students will have access to Student Circus's job search portal; designed for international students in the UK. This will help familiarise you with the UK job market and the requirements needed to secure roles in the UK or in your home country.

It provides the following resources:

  • 4,000+ employers listed on the platform, with job listings from 1,000+ employers, showing verified, up-to-date full-time and internship job listings from employers who can sponsor international students in the UK.
  • Work placement search tool, listing paid placement opportunities.
  • Immigration advice, provided by expert immigration solicitors about working in the UK.
  • Country guides, offering local recruitment insights and an overview of the job market for a variety of countries, suitable if you’re planning to return home or relocate.

The job search portal also offers students a Job Seekers' Toolkit, which provides:

  • CV Builder: a place to edit and store CVs
  • Map My Journey Application Tracker
