Fees for international students

It is important to think about not only your tuition and accommodation costs but the cost of living too.

The minimum cost of living as recommended by UKVI for studying in London is £1,529 per month, but will vary from student to student. This is a guideline to cover items like accommodation, food, laundry, books, clothes, toiletries and socialising. For up to date information, visit Student visa: Money you need - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Tuition fees (listed below) will be an additional cost, as well as student insurance, the health care surcharge and transfers to and from the airport.

Tuition fee validity

Fees for the 2026/27 academic year are valid for any programme that commences on, or after September 2026.

Merit-based scholarship

At the University of Huddersfield - London, we recognise academic excellence by offering a merit-based scholarship of up to £4,000 to international students for a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Just apply to study at the University as normal and you will automatically be considered if you meet the eligibility criteria.

For international undergraduate students, you could be awarded up to £4,000 for every year of your course, based on your academic achievements.

Scholarships of up to £4,000 are awarded to international students applying for taught postgraduate courses, based on their academic achievements.

To be eligible for our merit-based scholarship you must:

  • Be an international fee-paying student.
  • Be applying for a full-time taught undergraduate or postgraduate course.
  • Be fully self-funding your studies, this means you are not receiving any funding for your studies.
  • For postgraduate, you must have achieved a minimum 2.2 or equivalent in your undergraduate degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course.

Conditions:

Students will be notified in their offer letter if they have been awarded a scholarship.

Eligible international students will be awarded the scholarship for every year of their course, excluding their placement year.

This scholarship will not be awarded alongside any other University or external scholarships.

Exclusions include:

Applicants with refugee, asylum-seeker status or indefinite leave to remain in the UK are not eligible.

A £500 discount will be applied for first year of study, if the full tuition fee deposit by the following deadlines.

Additional costs

There may be additional costs related to your course. In addition to your tuition fees, it is likely that you will incur extra costs as a student at the University of Huddersfield - London. It is useful for you to be aware of the additional things you may have to pay for.

Please note this is not an exhaustive list and some additional costs will vary depending on your programme of study. All University of Huddersfield - London students must:

  • Be in possession of a laptop computer. A good quality laptop can be purchased in the UK for between £400 and £500.
  • Purchase copies of all course textbooks. The total cost involved will vary depending upon programme of study, but it is likely that course textbooks for each programme will cost in the region of £200.
  • Budget appropriately for travel costs to and from the University of Huddersfield - London.
  • Budget for the cost of obtaining a new visa. Further details can be provided by visiting: www.gov.uk/student-visa

Additional information

All international students should have accident and medical insurance for the duration of their time in the UK. This will make you feel more secure because not having the proper coverage can be extremely difficult and expensive.

You can take out our own StudyCare Insurance policy or alternative cover with a third party. The StudyCare Insurance policy covers loss of personal possessions as well as providing health and medical insurance. It is specifically designed for international students’ needs during your studies. Insurance cover is offered for up to 12 months.
