Fees for international students

It is important to think about not only your tuition and accommodation costs but the cost of living too.

The minimum cost of living as recommended by UKVI for studying in London is £1,334 per month, but will vary from student to student. This is a guideline to cover items like accommodation, food, laundry, books, clothes, toiletries and socialising. For up to date information, visit Student visa: Money you need - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

Currently the maintenance level is set at £1,334/month for those studying in London. This is being changed to £1,483 and will come into effect for students making a visa application after 2nd January 2025.

Tuition fees - listed below - will be an additional cost, as well as student insurance, the health care surcharge and transfers to and from the airport.

Tuition fee validity

Fees for the 2025/26 academic year are valid for any programme that commences on, or after September 2025.

Merit scholarships

We offer a number of scholarships to provide extra financial assistance with the costs of study to eligible students.

At the University of Huddersfield - London, we recognise academic excellence by offering a merit-based scholarship of up to £4,000.

Awards are based on your academic achievements.

To be eligible for our merit-based scholarship you must:

  • Be an international fee-paying student.
  • Be applying for a full-time taught postgraduate course.
  • Be fully self-funding your studies, this means you are not receiving any funding for your studies.
  • For postgraduate, you must have achieved a minimum 2.2 or equivalent in your undergraduate degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course.
  • Students will be notified in their offer letter if they have been awarded a scholarship.
  • This scholarship will not be awarded alongside any other University or external scholarships.
  • Please check your offer letter for full details of the scholarship that you have been awarded and fees.
  • Just apply to study at the University and you will automatically be considered if you meet the eligibility criteria.
  • You’ll need to be an international self-funded student paying full fees.
  • If you’re awarded a scholarship, you will be notified in your offer letter.

Additional Costs

There may be additional costs related to your course. In addition to your tuition fees, it is likely that you will incur extra costs as a student at the University of Huddersfield - London. It is useful for you to be aware of the additional things you may have to pay for.

Please note this is not an exhaustive list and some additional costs will vary depending on your programme of study. All University of Huddersfield London students must:

  • Be in possession of a laptop computer. A good quality laptop can be purchased in the UK for between £400 and £500.
  • Purchase copies of all course textbooks. The total cost involved will vary depending upon programme of study, but it is likely that course textbooks for each programme will cost in the region of £200.
  • Budget appropriately for travel costs to and from the University of Huddersfield - London. Students can apply for a Student Oyster Card which provides discounted travel around London. Further details can be obtained by visiting: 18+ Student Oyster photocard - Transport for London (tfl.gov.uk)
  • Budget for the cost of obtaining a new visa. Further details can be provided by visiting: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa 

Confirmation and payment of tuition fees

Once you have received an offer of a place at the University of Huddersfield - London, you are required to pay a confirmation payment. The security deposit is held to cover damages and any other incidental expenses. Any monies left at the end of your programme will be returned to you.

No later than 28 days prior to your programme start date, and before arrival at the University of  Huddersfield - London, you will be required to pay the balance of the tuition fees along with any accommodation fees (if applicable) as set out on your individualised payment plan on your offer letter.

Additional information

All international students should have accident and medical insurance for the duration of their time in the UK. This will make you feel more secure because not having the proper coverage can be extremely difficult and expensive.

You can take out our own Study Care Insurance policy or alternative cover with a third party. The StudyCare Insurance policy covers loss of personal possessions as well as providing health and medical insurance. It is specifically designed for international students’ needs during your studies. Insurance cover is offered for up to 12 months.
